- Hole 1
Hole 1
Short par 4 with birdie chance but watch out for water!
Drive of around 230 yards down the left side takes you down the second slope leaving a lofted shot to the green. Alternatively a fairway wood/long iron leaves you on an elevated position with a full shot to the green.- Hole 2
Hole 2
A perfect drive would be 250 yards fading round the right-hand bunker. Attack the pin with controlled mid/short iron- Hole 3
Hole 3
Short par 3.
A straight-forward hole requiring a medium to short iron, however, beware the sucker pin position front left of the green. Take this on and you could end up with a bogey (or more)- Hole 4
Hole 4
Stunning par 5 with a great opportunity for a birdie.
draw a drive of 250 yards plus is required to reach the low ridge running across the fairway. The green can now be reached in two by going over the two bunkers ahead. The birdie, however, is no gimmie as a long low shot through the green can end up in the bunker on the left side or worse the hedge beyond. The green has many levels with difficult pin positions- Hole 5
Hole 5
Magnificent challenging par 3.
The first hole of the "Lune Loop" with stunning views towards the river Lune. The green is around 30 feet below and slopes away from you. Choose your club carefully; hit the green and you will be happy with a three. Note the pin position on No7 as you walk to the green.- Hole 6
Hole 6
A par 4 for men and a 5 for Ladies.
Do not fade your tee shot as the river Lune will welcome your ball. If you are hitting a long iron to the green, hit the front as the green slopes gently from front to back- Hole 7
Hole 7
A challenging par 4 to a green at the top of a steep incline.
Accuracy of the tee is important to avoid a hedge on the left and a large Ash tree on the right.A fairway wood (200 yards) will leave a view of the green and a mid/short iron in. The green slopes right to left and due to its exposed position is often a little faster.- Hole 8
Hole 8
Par 5 with risk and reward birdie chance.
This hole is a double dogleg. On the tee the temptation is to cut the corner but a fully commited drive of 260 yards plus between the holly tree and hedge should leave a position to reach the green in two.The line to the green is the corner of the clubhouse with a fairway wood. The green is well guarded at the front with two bunkers but does have a gentle gradient that faces you.
- Hole 9
Hole 9
Strong par 4 back to the Clubhouse.
A 200 yard carry from the tee to the second level sets up another great driving hole. A drive of 240 yards down the left side leaves a view of the flag. The elevated green has a deceiving bunker 25 yards short, so trust the yardage.- Hole 10
Hole 10
A spectacular Par 5 over the lake.
At 275 yards off the tee the hole doglegs to the right down a slope. This hole rewards the big hitters who if reaching down the slope will have a long iron or fairway wood to the green. The green is long but narrow with three levels. There is a bunker on the left side so a draw is the best shape for your second shot.- Hole 11
Hole 11
A par 4 over and along the Barbon Beck.
Ideal position down the fairway would be 250 yards on the right side opening up the green. A two tier Mackenzie type green protected by two front bunkers and a deep rear left bunker are awaiting a hesitant approach.- Hole 12
Hole 12
A testing par 4 with stunning views towards the Howgills.
An ideal drive would be a draw around the marker post as the hole doglegs from the right to left. Hit a short iron to the green that sits up and begs to be hit. Beware of two of the most raked bunkers on the course that sit like gatekeepers in front of the green ready to capture your ball.- Hole 13
Hole 13
Tricky par 3 uphill to a two-tier green
The hole sits in the shadow of a mighty oak. It once gave you a breather mid-way through the back nine but since 20 yards were added it became a tough little hole to achieve a par. Club selection is vital particularly if the prevailing wind is blowing into your face.- Hole 14
Hole 14
Long par 5 up and over the hill.
Time to open your shoulders and rip a drive up towards (and over) the crown of the hill. Only the longest hitters will get there in two. Birdie best achieved with controlled lofted iron to the pin.- Hole 15
Hole 15
Birdie chance par 4
Hit the tee shot 260 yards down the lefthand side to avoid the out of bounds and leave a short iron in. A ball landing too far to the right side of the green can gather into the bunker below it.- Hole 16
Hole 16
Beautiful par 4 from elevated tee.
The preferd tee shot is a strong fade some 250 yards around the dogleg. This sets up an inviting shot to the green with its backdrop of pine trees and flowers. Avoid the front bunkers by playing a commited shot to the flag. Big hitters occasionally take on the woods to the right with a powerful draw to leave a lofted iron to the green- a risky stategy.- Hole 17
Hole 17
Par 3 card wrecker over Barbon Beck.
This tee shot is risky unless you take the water out of play with plenty of club. The beck runs away left to right which will gather any ball fading or pushedright. The correct club selection with a solid strike should give a birdie chance.- Hole 18
Hole 18
Par 4 for Men and par 5 for Ladies.
A challenging last hole. Tee shot should be with a touch of draw between the two large oak trees onto the second level of fairway. Short iron to the green that sits along the bank of the lake.Aim right of the flag avoiding the bunker and you are home and dry!
